TGoV - Episode 17 - House of Thorns
In the words of Fleeda, Druid Follower of the Below
played by Charlie Holmberg
The Cloudscapers’ blasphemy has been confirmed to me. To explore the ancient works of the Bonelanders’ ancestors, I put the Rathomyran battery into a portal wall. Its opening blasted us with powerful astral magic, stunning all magic users. While the portal lay open, Grisk heard the most deafening roar, signaling that Ghubrak and the Dreamers awakened for an instant. Then the portal exploded, destroying the wall and battery. Captain Glisandi told us her ship the Disrespectful Servant nearly fell out of the sky, its xephyrite engine failing while the Leviathans stirred. This can only suggest that the mining of these Dreamers’ bones angers the Above greatly.
To honor the true gods, I acted to serve the Below. The Disrespectful Servant’s brig contained Qurgozil, the ilithid who had stolen the Benediction from us. With her magic, she forced Tunzug and Odrak to attack the crew, but in questioning her, we learned Qurgozil's story. She serves the Below, whom the Cloudscapers mistakenly call Morlen, goddess of Death. Long ago, the Rathomyrans created weapons like the Benediction that could either awaken or destroy the Levianthans. One was killed, falling to the Afoot, creating the Ash of Souls, a desolate wasteland of corruption. Qurgozil stole the Benediction to save it from falling into the wrong hands. To aid in her quest for the Below, I secretly released her during the night, and the next morning, no one knew of my hand in her escape, though Krustov may suspect me.
Our party continued on to the house of Rose Allindra Veneret, mother of Legitimate. We are being followed by many enemies and I know not our fate here in Zenith, but while Qurgozil and her tribe fight the end of the world in the name of the Below, I shall fight with them.
